This kit is intended to be used with standard deck framing lumber from your local lumberyard or home improvement retailer.
Recommended maximum span of 2x6 is 9.5 feet.
The dimensions of these brackets are for dressed lumber. Commonly referred to as 4x4’s or 2x6’s, the actual measurements of these are 3.5x3.5 or 1.5x5.5. It may be best to take the bracket to the store with you to test the size of the wood.
Lag screws are included in this kit. Use 2 screws at a minimum in each piece of lumber. It is best if you drill a pilot hole before screwing in the lag bolt to avoid splitting the wood.
